Did you know half your staff want to quit?
People hate their jobs, but why? Below I’ve pulled some stats from Gallup’s 2023 State of the Global Workplace report.
1. A record high proportion of employees globally are engaged…at a pitiful 23%. In North America, 31% of employees are engaged while 17% are actively disengaged. (In this survey, “engagement” captures the involvement and enthusiasm of employees in both their work and workplace.)
2. 60% of workers are quiet quitting. They’re showing up, punching in and doing the bare minimum. Makes sense if most people aren’t really engaged.
3. A concerning proportion of employees are stressed, worried, sad and angry. This does not make for a productive workforce. Thankfully, the pandemic burnout has declined.
4. Half your staff are ready to quit and most believe NOW is a good time to leave. Pay is the top controllable reason employees leave.
Companies are notorious for fighting pay raises for existing staff, only to fork over the extra amount anyways when replacing an employee who quit.
