What you say makes intuitive sense. Perhaps I should have instead asked "When do deficits begin to matter?".

When interest rates rise and the cost of living out strips our abilities to pay for unfunded liabilities, society and future generations will pay the ultimate price in a devalued currency and reduced social benefits. I would say it it matter’s now ! Just my personal opinion tho .
